East Meets West for the Chic Rebirth of Successful Salon
Crafting a luxurious yet welcoming atmosphere, Rehab Squared returned to reimagine a flagship salon for valued clients. Following a successful collaboration with Salon 3 in 2010, we were thrilled to transform a blank canvas in an Old Douglas building into an elevated beauty destination.
Our vision embraced understated elegance and natural sophistication. Though intimate with only 10 styling stations, the thoughtful design maximises the space while maintaining an airy, expansive feel that invites clients to unwind and rejuvenate.
We curated a palette of organic colours and materials complemented by industrial black accents, paying homage to Old Douglas's rich working heritage while creating a contemporary sanctuary.
The space embodies Japandi principles - a harmonious fusion of Japanese serenity and Scandinavian comfort. This design philosophy celebrates simplicity, incorporating low-profile furnishings and clutter-free spaces that connect seamlessly with natural elements. Our interpretation of ‘Japandi’ merges Japanese artistic traditions and wabi-sabi aesthetics with the cozy warmth of Scandinavian ‘hygge’ Both design traditions value simplicity, sustainability, and a deep connection to nature.
Clean architectural lines, carefully selected minimalistic artwork and textured fabric materials work together to create an environment of refined tranquility where beauty and wellness flourish.
